Cookie banners are a perfect example of a bad implementation of a good-in-theory principle. They've created an anti-pattern in user behavior where people immediately click and dismiss banners without reading them, making the entire exercise pointless. Meanwhile, EU bureaucracy continues to hinder the investment power of EU companies with such misguided regulations.
My website does not use any form of analytics at the current moment. If I implement analytics in the future, it will probably be a self-hosted solution (custom-built or open source) without any tracking or targeting data.
I support initiatives like eu/acc and AVE Europe to spread awareness and drive positive change.
